TRIO N A M

NAM is the musical meeting of Virginia Nicoli, Dhrupad singer and bansuri player, Matteo Ramon Arevalos, Italian pianist and composer, and Ciro Montanari, percussionist specializing in the tabla, the classical drums of India.

Together, they present an original repertoire that brings the atmosphere of Indian ragas into dialogue with a contemporary classical pianistic vision, giving rise to a deeply evocative and intense sonic experience.

Technique and virtuosity grow quiet, waiting within these open spaces where the listener is free to wander through the hidden echoes of imagination. Then, like a river breaking its banks, they reveal themselves, carrying the audience into more vibrant and acrobatic landscapes.

The word N A M ( Nicoli - Arevalos - Montanari), whose Sanskrit root conveys the meanings of devotion, reverence, and bowing, expresses a bond that may be described as sacred. It reflects the dedication that unites these musicians in a shared intention: to create timeless music that mirrors the evolution of their artistic journey.

Their research and practice have nurtured a profound respect and love for the essence from which they draw inspiration, and to which they dedicate compositions infused with a dreamlike atmosphere.

As the notes unfold, they gently cradle the listener toward places where explanations are no longer needed, inviting us to discover where music can take us when we close our eyes and simply surrender to its presence.
